A few things. I would start off with an honest an heartfelt letter of what it means to them that she gave them this gift.

I would definitely at the very least give the child a middle name after the donor.

Having the person involved in the childs’ life as much as possible. Teaching the child to call her ‘aunty….’

Definitely photos throughout the childs life.

And, most importantly of all, be good parents!! How would this woman feel knowing that she helped this child be born into a failed family? They have more responsibility than ever to make sure that they do a good job, and raise a decent human being.

you could ask her to be the god mother, or include her in the baby shower as if both of the women are having a baby, or like a tiffany bracelet with the childs name on it, or a locket with the childs picture in it and in the other space for a picture put a message to her like thank you or god bless.

That depends on the relationship of the donor to the couple. If the woman is a stranger and the couple wants to keep it that way, then the best thing would be to give her a nice gift related o her interest and needs. Or the couple can give the gift of friendship and occasionally let her see the child, if they think it won’t be disruptive.

It’s a great question and a difficult one to answer. An egg donation is incredibly generous – and priceless.

How about making a donation in the woman’s name to a national organization that helps with infertility, or helps disadvantaged children?

I agree that a SPA weekend would be very nice, considering what she had to go through to give her eggs. Then I would also give her the option of going to the doc with you when you are able to hear the heartbeat.
What a cool thing to do for someone!! WOW KUDOS to her

I don’t know about “before” but I am sure that portraits throughout the childs life would be appreciated the most. Frame a picture of the ultrasound with a message of thanks – possibly in a shadowbox. Start her one of those frames that displays a picture of the child each year they are in school (which will show your plan for continued gratuity.)

If you are comfortable with it – give the child part of her name – a middle name, same initials, etc… (I know this is not an option for everyone.)

u can also name the baby after her to show her appreiciation.
