Check them out well beforehand and ask to see past work. If they are unwilling to show any past photos, or if they do not have any, then it is best to try out someone else. Costs are not what is important here so try to find someone who knows exactly what is happening in the way of new styles of posing or such.

Take, for example, a photographer who specializes in videos. Many programs on computer set ups will be able to manipulate the film to some extent and add some kinds of special effects when they go back to their studios. It can even lighten or darken shots that were not fully exposed so that faces or silhouettes will stand out more. With this in mind, make it clear to the photographer what is, and what is not expected of him when he goes away to prepare the photos.
