The same local business owners had been asked for donations over and over and the people going to the events were not excited about the items offered. So, they created large big ticket itemslike a ski trip to Colorado, a weekend in Chicago, a private dinner by a local well known chef in your home and an extreme home makeover package. The five live auction things went for a larger sum that any of the silent auctions had ever gone for in the past. This group has also successfully created its own unusual method to fundraise by offering pre-paid parties. Several couples decide on a great themed party such as a Rollin’ Down the River canoe trip and BBQ or a specialbox at a Reds game complete with an inning spent with the announcer in the press box. The peoplehaving the party pay for the whole event and charge people to sign up for it. All of the amount that is charged goes directly to the charity. This has been a fantastic method in raising funds and to get to know your other neighbors in the community and a lot of fun also!
