My sister’s wedding is coming up this summer and she’s asked me to choose the champagne for the big day – like I’m the expert! In my opinion, champagne is the perfect gift to send – especially during summer time. It’s classy, thoughtful and of course very nice to drink!

My two favourites are Veuve Clicquot Rose and Laurent-Perrier Rose. These are two of the finest champagnes, known for the fruity flavours and pretty pink colour.

Laurent-Perrier Rose has an aroma of fresh summer fruits and is wonderfully elegant on the palette – that would work well for the wedding. Its rich salmony colour would compliment my bridesmaid dress very well. This champagne has a great depth of raspberry fruit and a hint of citrus, with a dry finish and a violetty, floral hue. It matures in no less than four years, which only serves to enhance the flavour.

The Veuve Clicquot Rose is a perfectly balanced champagne that is magical to the nose and the palette. The initial aromas of raspberry, strawberry, cherry and blackberry give off a scent of Spring, and the taste of fruit warms slowly into the biscuity flavour of Viennese pastries – an elegant and generous choice for any occasion! The superb rose colour with coppery accents brings an additional romantic touch, making it perfect for my sister’s wedding.

If you want to send or give champagne gifts, I would definitely recommend one of these two. If you’re attending a celebration or party this summer, take one along as a gift to say thanks. Alternatively, if you want to show someone how special they are, send some champagne through the post as a surprise – it will be greatly appreciated!
