What should I do about my Valentine gift?

For Valentine’s Day my boyfriend bought me a gold chain with a beautiful heart pendant with lots of diamonds. It is from a good jeweler and looks expensive. The problem is, all my other jewelry is either white gold or silver and this is yellow gold. Even the engagement ring he got me was white gold with diamonds. Am I being too petty? I already hurt his feelings by asking if I could exchange it for white gold and he said they didn’t ave one in that color and he looked very sad or disappointed. I told him I appreciate it vey much and it is beautiful but I just don’t care for yellow gold jewelry. What should I do now to make things better? I feel terrible.

Should I …

A. Wear the necklace even though it doesn’t match all my other jewelry.
B. Return it for something I really want.
C. Say I love it but hardly ever wear it.
D. Buy other yellow gold accessories to go with the necklace, so I can wear it and all my jewelry will match.

I just wanted to add that I am not a mean or selfish person at all. We are always very honest with each other about everything and maybe this situation didn’t call for complete honesty.

We all receive them, whether we want them or not, unwantedpresents can be a terrible headache, especially if they are of a large size. There is really no where to put them. But what can you do with a gift that you just do not want or do not like? I mean there is no way that you can turn around to the individual and say that you do not like it. So lets take a look at a few things you could possibly do.

Give it to Charity

This is probably in my opinion the best option. Charities incline to get a lot of second hand items. So they would be ever so happy to receive something new. It is also said that New Year is the busiest time of the year for charity shops and thats merely because of the fact that a vast intensity of people are bringing back their undesirable gifts. So all in all you do not have to feel too bad.

Give it to a Sibling

You could attempt passing it down to your brother or sister, or instead endeavour to give it to another family member. Just make sure that the person that gave it to you does not see, otherwise they will not be very happy.

Throw it Away

If you genuinely detest it that much then you could look at the hypothesis of throwing it away or giving it to a recycling centre. But once again if the individual that gave it to you decides to ask where it is, you may have to derive up with some fast answers.

There are also a vast amount more of things that you should be doing. I am certain that of you do something constructive with the present, then the individual will not be too distressed. As I would rather give something away to charity instead of letting it rot in the shed somewhere.
