Making dolls for somebody’s anniversary.

I’ve got such hobby as making dolls. I think that most of people can say that it’s nonsense that a 30 aged man is fond of making dolls. In fact they are used to think about dolls as toys. But I think that they are wrong. Dolls aren’t only toys, artificial creatures for children. I know a lot of adults who are also go in for this activity with great pleasure. Besides this I’ve got another reason for making dolls. The matter is that I completely dissatisfied with such kinds of dolls which are produced by numerous mostly Chinese factories. I can’t say that this work isn’t well qualified. I dislike the fact that almost all of these dolls are quite standard. They look like to be completely the same. It’s something like numerous gears in one mechanism. But I especially like those ones which are unique as works of fine arts. I don’t like the massive usage of standard patterns. I agree that patterns are easy to use and understand. But on the contrary they prevent us using our creative capabilities. Patterns are simply the killers of our creative potential.

I think that people were used to making dolls long time ago when there wasn’t such a thing as human civilization. Dolls were used for different religious purposes. They were known mainly as totems and they were believed to have special magic qualities. Even nowadays these lovely artificial beings can be used by some guys for their magic practice. In different cultures there are a lot of certain beliefs closely connected with different dolls. Off course these beliefs deal only with those dolls which are made with one’s hands. It’s believed that a particular maker can put his own soul into the doll while making it. I can agree with this statement.

But as for me I’m not going to be involved in different kinds of magic activity. There’s no need for me to enslave somebody’s soul or make somebody become a zombie. In general I can say that black magic can’t be considered to be my specialty. But if my doll is able to bring luck to somebody I’ll be glad and proud of this.

As for the current moment I’m working at my anniversary gift for my parents. They’ll have their 30th anniversary soon. And I want to be ready for this event. I’m going to make two dolls for them. I’d like to decorate these dolls with some jewelry. I’ll put my heart and soul in to this gift while making it. I think that this anniversary gift can bring happiness. I know that I’ll do my best for this purpose. By the way I have almost finished doing this.
