For teens summer means freedom. They can be stress free and have time to chill. Unfortunately, this fairy tale doesn’t last very long. Unfortunately; most teens need to get a summer job. Having a summer job doesn’t need to be such a bad thing. Getting a job in a fun environment can actually make working enjoyable. Life guarding can be the perfect summer job.You have to go through the life guard training and get a license, but it is well worth it. You’ll be set for summer jobs for years after you get your license. There aren’t a lot of downsides to being a lifeguard either. You get to spend your day in the sun on a pretty day. Plus, you will most likely have weekends and night off. Having this job won’t limit your social life. You will probably be asked to take kids to the pool, which is awesome. There aren’t many jobs where you get a tan while being paid.
One other interesting job to get in the summer is working at a kayak or canoe rental space. Naturally, you’ll have to know what you’re doing but you don’t have to be awesome. You may end up working the tow car, the desk, or if you are very practiced, you can lead tours. Either way, you will be surrounded by fun outdoorsy people that love to have fun. You and your friends will probably get to take trips down the river for less than you would other wise because you’ll get discounts.
Getting a summer job doesn’t have to be a bad thing. You can learn a lot from working over your summer break and have a good time as well. You will be very glad you got a summer job if you get one that you enjoy.
