You can begin right away by having a green wedding celebration. For couples that are advocates of having a greener and cleaner environment, a green wedding would very much serve their purpose, but how can one make a green wedding? These are some ideas that can help you bring about your green magic.

Your Wedding Cake

Truth be told, not too many guests are really after a piece of the wedding cake after consuming a filling meal or taking in their fill of free- flowing drinks served at your reception. The cake offers a great opportunity for photos as the couple cuts it. There is usually a lot of left over wedding cake, but will it still look good when the first child is born?

If you have guests who are unable to attend your wedding, it’s nice to save pieces of the cake to have shipped to them.

Even today wedding cakes are just get wasted and thrown out on a large scale. on the contrary, the alternative to the cake is cheese which many would prefer to eat. These are more tempting after meals and can still give the couple a great photo opportunity, though it would much more easier to cut into Brie or Stilton! You might not actually be saving this for christening however cheese is really good since the guests will return to nibble on it all through the evening.

Your Wedding Favors

These trinkets are also called bonbon Erie. Favors are a fairly recent idea, descended from a Greek custom of giving guests sugar almonds to symbolize the couple’s wishes for the future.
A young tree from the local area makes for a unique and green party gift. This is great for the environment and will also be a long-lasting reminder of the wedding.

Some native tree seedlings that you can give out as your wedding favors are Holly, Yew, Oak, Scotts Pine, Crab Apple, Birch, Ash, Willow, Chestnut, Alder, Hornbeam and Field Maple. Tree seedlings are an environmentally friendly wedding favor which also serve as a timeless reminder of your wedding day.

Green Confetti

It is traditional to have confetti at a wedding, and a shower of confetti over the bride can make for great photos. As you know, this is a fantastic time to take a picture; nevertheless, it not only leaves an unsightly residue that remains a long time afterward, but also many establishments do not look with favor upon confetti showers.

One way to go green on the wedding for this tradition and not waste paper, is to use dried flowers as confetti. There are specific farms that cultivate flowers to pick out and dry for sale as confetti for special events. This is much easier to do and it will not last for days since they basically dissolve quickly by decomposing naturally which is different from the usual paper confetti.

It’s quite enchanting imagining fields full of flowers and sees different shades of blue, pink, white or purple. Dried flower petals are just the perfect idea of showering the bride with confetti on that big day. You can see fascinating web-sites showing dried petals from the flower you choose. You can also investigate any other services they offer for additional wedding ideas or activities.

But of course you must first check the venue if they’d allow you to shower or throw dried petal confetti before you book your reservation. If the wedding location is not agreeable to your ideas, then threaten to change the location. Surely there is nothing wrong with allowing your guests to throw some handfuls of flowers at the bride and groom!
