Do not fret over the right sort of clothes to wear when you are attending a wedding. Most of us try to look our best whenever we are going to a social event. As some people would say it, just look better than your best when attending someone’s wedding.

The Clues Are on the Invitation

But how do you decide what to wear to a particular wedding? The answer to your question lies on the wedding invitation itself. You know that you need to wear more formal clothing if the invitation is embossed, posh and written in a formal tone. However, if the invitation is casually presented and written, it means that the wedding is a more casual and intimate affair.

Daytime or Evening?

Perhaps a more important clue that you should pay attention to in deciding what wedding attire to wear is the time of the wedding. You will wear different things if you are going to a day wedding or night time wedding.

For daytime weddings, you do not need to show up in formal wedding attire. Black is too miserable for a day wedding so get the light colours on.

As for evening weddings, formal wedding attire is usually the required dress code, but that still depends on whether the wedding is black-tie optional or strictly black tie. Choose a cocktail dress or smart skirt/top combo if black-tie is optional. Children who are invited to these events should wear their best part clothes. Girls party dresses are ideal for little princesses.

A ball gown should be worn if the invitation states it is a black-tie event. You will only look your best if you are comfortable in what you are wearing. Remember that you will probably be dancing in your outfit.

There are thousands of dresses and outfits made for wedding days and ceremonies. Remember to avoid anything white if you do not want to upset the bride!
