A very close friend of mine was getting wed and although I hadn’t been asked to be the best man, the speech supplied by the best man was terrible but worse still he didn’t even attempt to direct it to the bride and bridegroom. Make sure you mentioned all of the good things about the groom first before you get to the funny stuff. If necessary, produce a list of these items before you compose your speech or, if you want to wing it, just hold your essential points on a piece of card so you don’t leave out anything.
